MUMBAI :In India’s recent ODI match against New Zealand, batter Shreyas Iyer was left out of the squad as he is still recovering from a back injury which he received during the Sri Lanka ODI series on Sunday. The cricketer was replaced by RCB batter Rajat Patidar. Since then, the cricketer has been getting the required rest as well as exercise to get back to top form.

As we know, the cricketer was asked by the BCCI’s medical staff to stay at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore as he recuperates. Recently, the cricketer took to her Instagram handle to share a photo of him and his recovery process. In the photo, he can be seen in a grey vest and sporting a gold chain while posing in the gym. He wrote on his story, “Recovery in process. Will be back in no time.” Check out his photo here:

Shreyas Iyer is one of the best middle-order batters for the Indian team. In the recent ODI vs Sri Lanka, he made scores of 28, 28 and 38 batting at No. 4, and aided India’s 3-0 win against Sri Lanka. He is also the second-highest ODI run scorer in India after Shubman Gill.

Iyer has played for all formats of cricket for the Indian team. The right-handed batter scored a century in his debut test match and a half century in the second innings against New Zealand in November 2021, becoming the first Indian player to achieve this. He is also the captain for the Indian Premier League (IPL) club, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2022.
