MUMBAI: VVS Laxman took to social media and penned down a note to pay tribute to cricketer Gautam Gambhir.
For the uninitiated, a few days back, VVS Laxman had announced on his page that he would be paying tribute to teammates who influenced him immensely. The series that he has started on social media has become hit among the fans and they look forward to his new post every day.
He lived up to his promise and came up with beautiful notes for some of the most popular and iconic figures of the cricket world.
In his latest post, he has paid tribute to Gautam Gambhir, who is the recipient of Arjuna Award, India's second highest sporting award.

VVS Laxman shared a throwback picture of Gautam and penned down a note for him.
Calling Gautam ‘Massively inquisitive’, he mentioned that the cricketer never shied away from a challenge on a cricket field.
“Massively inquisitive and totally obsessed with the game, @gautamgambhir55 never shied away from a challenge on a cricket field. Whether it was taking on express pace bowlers on spicy tracks overseas or standing up for a wronged teammate, he knew not what it was to back down,” read his caption.

On the other hand, reacting to VVS Laxman’s post, Gautam wrote, “Tks Special, every moment spent with u was education. Our dressing room was full of role models but none bigger dan u. Another reason why u deserved a grand farewell. BTW am still curious to know why were u always perched at silly point while I was fighting for life @ shortleg!!!”
So far, VVS Laxman has paid tribute to Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Sourav Ganguly, Javagal Srinath, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ashish Nehra.
