Many people have inherent rhythm in them which makes them tapping their feet the minute they hear music.
Some can be wild and boisterous while the others are a pleasure to watch.
I am not a very good dancer but yes, I am not two left feet either. But I was ignorant of this quality of mine as I had never danced in public that is if you discount dancing during Navratri and Ganpati celebrations. Strangely, I always dreamt of dancing on stage and it came true when Gauri and I got a chance to participate in the second season of Nach Baliye. We were full of doubts about how we would pull it off but we guess our fans were the wind beneath our wings (feet in this case). We then decided to put our best foot forward.
I remember telling our choreographer to start from the basic. He thought I was joking but later understood and decided to start the next day itself. And it began.FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT.till it became a routine. I would shoot the whole day and then reach the rehearsal hall by 10 pm and then stay put till 2 am. Gauri would rehearse from 2 pm to 2 am. It had got to a point that we were rehearsing our steps in our sleep too. We didn't win NB 2 but we had overcome our inhibitions. And today dancing comes naturally to us.
So guys, the point of the matter is 'never say never' because if you put your mind to something, everything is possible. And of course, hard work pays off.
