MUMBAI: Zee TV’s Vasudha continues to strike a chord with viewers through its emotional narrative and strong characters. Recently, we saw how Avinash (Ishankk Salluja) and Divya (Shubhanshi Raghuwanshi) were planning to get married. However, after past emotions and unresolved issues resurfaced, in the upcoming episodes, Chandrika (Nausheen Ali Sardar) will prepare to get her son - Avinash's married off to Karishma (Pratiksha Rai). Devansh (Abhishek Sharma), on the other hand, will try to uncover Karishma’s true intentions. And amidst all this drama, the latest addition to the ensemble cast is the experienced actor Rajesh Jais, known for his compelling screen presence and nuanced performances.
Rajesh Jais essays the role of Surya Singh Rathod, a character that brings further emotional weight to the story. Surya is an upright, morally disciplined man in the village, and his world revolves around his daughter - Divya. Years ago, he shared a deep bond with Chandrika and Prabhat, but life took a bitter turn when they moved to Udaipur, leaving Surya on an unpleasant note. Hence, when Vasudha (Priya Thakur) tries to convince Surya to accept the marriage of Divya and Avinash, she finds it extremely challenging.
Surya is a really strong and principled character that will definitely spark a new and intense twist in Vasudha. And for Rajesh Jais, it’s characters like Surya that make acting a fulfilling and creatively satisfying journey!
Rajesh Jais said, "Returning to television after nearly 13 years has been a deeply satisfying experience. I’ve always admired Arvind Babbal’s approach to storytelling and discipline, having worked with him previously on a film and a serial. So when I was offered the role of Surya Singh Rathod in Vasudha, it felt like the perfect opportunity. Surya isn’t just a father—he’s a man shaped by loyalty, loss, and deep-rooted values. Playing someone who carries so much emotional weight, yet tries to do what’s best for his daughter, is both challenging and rewarding. It’s roles like these that actors truly crave.
He added, "Shooting outdoors in Samod near Jaipur brought a refreshing energy, and I thoroughly enjoyed stepping into a new look and persona. Watching the final episodes reminded me of my earlier Television days—it’s nostalgic and fulfilling. The creative team deserves a lot of credit for pulling off such nuanced storytelling under tight schedules. Vasudha cast and direction team work like commandos—focused, precise, and passionate. Hats off to their dedication."
While Rajesh is thoroughly enjoying his time on Vasudha, it will be interesting for the viewers to watch whether Surya will accept Avinash after he discovers that the boy his daughter loves is the son of those who once broke his trust? Will Vasudha be able to convince Surya? Or what will follow next?
Stay tuned as Vasudha continues to deliver gripping twists and heartfelt moments every day at 10:15 PM only on Zee TV!
