13th Indian Telly Awards: Vote Now- Best Drama Series

The great Indian family drama is quite literally the oxygen of Indian audience. An engaging family drama ends up becoming topic of dinner table discussion in families. The 13th Indian Telly Awards nominates the best among the current lot on television. Let's take a look at the nominees. Uttaran (Colors) One of the highest rated drama series on Colors, Uttaran chronicles the life of two friends from different economic backgrounds. Such was the demand for this show that it was dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam as well. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) Rajan Shahi's Director's Kut Productions produced romantic drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, showcases the happenings within the household of an Udaipur based family. Like Uttaran, this show too in popular demand has been dubbed into Tamil. Saraswatichandra (Star Plus) This soap opera is based on a Gujarati novel by the same name and has the handsome Gautam Rode playing the lead. Spearheaded by Sphere Origins, Saraswatichandra rose as one of the extremely popular serials from the stables of Star and soon was dubbed into South Indian market( Malayalam) where too it has found immense takers. Balika Vadhu - Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte (Colors) This was Colors break through serial on child marriage- a plague that still exists in certain parts of India. Although the original cast are no longer a part of this series, the newer lot including Toral Rasputra, Siddharth Shukla and others have been able to keep the audience engaged with their riveting performances. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (Star Plus) Balaji Telefilms helmed Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has been able to grab TRPs despite receiving a late night telecast slot. Guess Ekta can thank her lead pair Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi both of whom have played the role of interstate lovers to the hilt. This 2 States like love story continues to capture viewers interest. Sasural Simar Ka (Colors) Produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, this fiction drama tells the story of two sisters, Simar and Roli who marry two brothers and end up living in the same house. Ex Balika Vadhu Avika Gor and Deepika Samson essay the lead role of sisters in this series. Saath Nibhana Sathiya (Star Plus) Another creation of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, Saath Nibhana Sathiya revolves around the story of two cousin sisters, Gopi and Rashi who are complete opposites of each other. While Gopi is innocent but illiterate, Rashi is wise and greedy. The plot takes a twist after the sisters get married. Vote now and make your favourite show win.
