13th Indian Telly Awards: Vote Now- Best Sitcom/Comedy Programme (Fiction)

A good sitcom is enough to bring the entire Indian family together under one roof. Situational comedies have had a great run on Indain televcision which has only given rise to many such shows on different channels. The 13th Indian Telly Awards nominates the best five. Let's have a look. Baal Veer (SAB TV) Optimystix Entertainment helmed Baal Veer though a kids based programme has managed to strike a chord with the older generation as well. The show which deals with the adventures of a supernaturally blessed kid both in human and fairy land touched a new high when its TRPS soared ahead of the uber popular Mahadev and Hatim. Needless to say, this show has both younger and older generation hooked. Jeannie Aur Juju (SAB TV) A situational comedy involving a fairy tale Jeannie and airline pilot was immensely lapped up by viewers. Started way back in 2012, the programme showcased the love story of Jeannie and the pilot by weaving in multiple comic situations together. Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir (SAB TV) Trust Ashwini Dhir to turn tables around when it comes to TRPs. One of SAB's highest rated show after Tarak, Lapataganj has been widely admired by audience all around. Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir is the 2nd series after the highly successful first one. The 2nd series replaced Hum Aapke Hain In Laws and has taken a six-year leap. Chidiya Ghar (SAB TV) Another highly rated SAB show, Chidiya Ghar as the name suggests has actors named after the animal kingdom. Not just that they have even have certain characteristics resembling animals. Needless to say the show creates enough laughs to keep audience hooked. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV) Created by Neela telefilms, this is by far the highest rated show on SAB TV. Started in 2008, this sitcome showcases Gokuldham Co-Operative Housing Society, a society that well known for its cultural diversity and the day-to-day life of its members who come from different backgrounds and cultures. The popularity of the show can be judged from the fact that it is a hot favorite among movie stars to make special appearances to promote their films. FIR (SAB TV) This superbly humourous show from the stables of EDIT II Productions has the famous Chandramukhi Chautala (Kavita Kaushik) entertaining one and all. One of the longest running shows on Indian television, FIR is must watch and is a strong contender to win this category. So which is your favourite in the list?
