Every generation sees actresses upping the beauty and acting quotient on TV. Their face value shoot the TRPs high. With many fresh faces making their debuts and fighting it out on the small screen, we round up the actresses who can easily walk away with a trophy in this popular category. Read on:
Nikita Dutta as Laxmi (Dream Girl):
Channelling your inner ambitions and working diligently towards it is a huge challenge when you’re a newbie. But Nikiti, as Laxmi, makes it work. Her expressive eyes, gorgeous face and star-like quality make her the Dream Girl of TV.
Shamata Anchan as Anjali (Everest):
For the first time, Indian TV saw a telenova that had a striking storyline and a gripping plot. Helming the show at the forefront was Shamata aka Anjali who played the feisty mountaineer with much aplomb. She has the body language and the gait of an adventurer, along with the emotional depth of a daddy’s little girl. Killer combo, eh?
Radhika Madan as Ishani (Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi):
In what’s perhaps the most complicated love story on the small screen, Radhika, better known as Ishani, had to portray a multitude of emotions in her maiden venture itself. It would be an understatement to say that she nailed it.
Aneri Vajani as Nisha (Nisha Aur Uske Cousins):
When your ticket to fame is named after you, you gotta deliver your best. That’s exactly what Aneri did. She played the quintessential youngster, Nisha, perfectly. Her expressions justified the ups and downs of her reel avatar’s life. We wouldn’t be surprised if she walked away with the coveted trophy.
Pankhuri Awasthy as Razia (Razia Sultan):
Another protagonist who had a major role to carry on her shoulders. We are glad to say that she didn’t disappoint. It’s especially difficult to play a character that’s so richly steeped in history. But Pankhuri’s Razia was fierce, independent and an able warrior.
