MUMBAI: Tu Aashiqui, the musical romance that airs on COLORS has gained a lot of popularity with its gripping storyline and vibrant cast. The show follows the journey of a young Pankti (Jannat Zubair Rahmani) who has been sold to a rich & sadist man by none other than her own mother (Gauri Pradhan Tejwani), who’s greed for money knows no bounds. Pankti is passionate about music and that’s what connects her with Aahan, a dissolute Rockstar who falls in love with her at first sight.
Currently in the show, Ahaan decides to comfort Pankti by taking her away from prying eyes after facing public humiliation due to a MMS scandal. They run away from the city and end up in a koli village where they take shelter for a few days. They dress up like the local villagers, who also start treating them like family.
What do you think of Tu Aashiqui?
To make things interesting – the makers of the show will also recreate the iconic folk song “Galyat Sankali Sonyachi”, that Aahan and Pankti sing together along with the villagers at a wedding.
Commenting on this, Jannat Zubair Rahmani, says, “Pankti, as a character, goes through a lot of difficulties and humiliation after the MMS scandal. This respite in the koli village helps her overcome the affront to her self-respect. I loved the time when we were shooting for “Galyat Sankali Sonyachi”, along with other crew members – it’s a fun peppy number that was really nice to perform to.”
Ritvik Arora, added, “It was a great sequence for all of us. It was very different from our regular stuff, there was dance, action and great music involved. Shooting for “Galyat Sankali Sanyachi” was incredible, the whole crew came together, and we had a fantastic time pre and post the shoot.”
