A week after they accused the channel of deliberately ousting their child, the family of Aaamir Hafiz was back on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs apologising to the judges for their emotional outburst. Aamir’s brother Feroze, who earlier told us that the judges deliberately undervalued Aamir’s performance at the insistence of the channel, now says, “Looking back at the events, we did over-react. I deeply regret for my unsavory comments against the judges. We duly apologised to Sonuji and Sureshji. However, I want to make it clear that this apology is only meant for the judges and not the channel.” True that Hafiz went a bit overboard but they did a raise a valid point which wasn’t given much credence. “Three weeks ago, Vasundhara and Rohanpreet were in the bottom two but at the request of the judges no one was eliminated. That week my brother finished in the top three. In the subsequent week, Tanmay and Vasundhara were in the bottom and the latter was finally eliminated. Aamir finished first. So, had there been an elimination in the earlier episode, that would have meant the three finalists would have been Rohanpreet, Anamika and Aamir,” chided Firoze. Indeed there is some merit to Firoze’s version. We tried contacting Creative Head, Payaol Patel but she was unavailable for comments. Moving away from the controversy, viewers will be happy to see Sa Re.. Challenge 2007 winner Aneek Dhar make his first public appearance post his horrific road accident in Guwahati.
