Aashish Kedar Mehrotra gifts his painting to director Romesh Kalra

MUMBAI: Actor Aashish Kedar Mehrotra, better known as Toshu in Rajan Shahi’s popular show Anupamaa, recently gifted a hand made painting of his to the director of the show Romesh Kalra who is an integral part of Directors Kut Production. The painting is that of a flying horse. Aashish says,”I wanted to give this to Romesh Sir for quite sometime now. The reason is quite simple -  I find him to be a very warm and helpful person. He has been extremely supportive during my toughest times and brings tremendous value to the table. I wanted to show my gratitude towards him through this painting. I chose a painting because it says a lot; we all have various materialistic things but a painting is unique and can be preserved and cherished forever.”

Explaining the painting Aashish says,”The painting is a very colorful depiction of a flying horse. I just wish this painting bring a lot of good luck to Romesh Sir’s life. When I was home quarantined for Covid19 I started the painting. I was feeling something is missing in the painting and in the last lockdown I locked myself in the room and finished it.”

Speaking about his love for painting Aashish says,”I actually started exploring this in the first lockdown. Painting on a canvas and also giving it a meaningful finish is a great feeling. I gradually started liking this. I was active in art and craft during my student days but never did a painting on canvas. I also have a dedicated social media handle for my art work, I have sold few of my paintings in the past. I have a plan to organise an exhibition soon.”
