There have been multiple instances where television actors have shown their hidden artistic side on their shows. The latest actor to do so is our very own Abeer Soofi who essays the role of Sai Baba in Sony Entertainment Television’s show Mere Sai. Apart from being a talented actor, Abeer is also an accomplished singer and has shown his latent talent in the upcoming episodes of the series that chronicles the happenings in the life story of one of the most loved saints worldwide – Shree Sai Baba.
Mere Sai shall soon complete a year of shoot and it’s an occasion of double celebration on the sets as it’s also the eve of the 100th year of Sai Baba’s Samadhi. In the current track of the show, the children who frequently visit Sai Baba in Dwarkamai are sad for some reason. Sai Baba who always loved children decides to sing a song to cheer them up and this was the moment when Abeer showcased his singing skills by singing a devotional song – Hare Rama, Hare Krishna. Everyone present on the sets from the director to the entire crew and cast were pleasantly surprised listening to Abeer’s soothing voice and requested him to sing again.
When contacted Abeer said, “It’s true. I did sing for a brief while when we were shooting for the current track. I am not a professional singer, but I do like to sing devotional songs and have been doing so since childhood along with my brother. When we were kids, we used to accompany our mother to temples and she also taught us Sanskrit and shlokas. I felt as if I had become a kid again as I sang the devotional song on the sets. It was a beautiful moment and one that I will always cherish.”
