MUMBAI: Faizal Siddiqui is one of the most popular TikTokers. He has over 13.4M followers. However, he has landed himself in trouble due to one of his videos.
National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma on Sunday responded to a tweet by BJP's Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga which highlighted a shocking TikTok video promoting acid attack on girls. In the video, Faizal Siddiqui is seen throwing water on a girl, which is hinted to be acid, while threatening her for leaving him for another guy. In the next scene, the girl's face is shown in heavy red makeup suggesting burns.
After the news of Faizal’s objectionable video went viral, acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal made a video lashing out at Siddiqui. In the video, Laxmi is seen being aghast at such mind-set and thinking of an individual who happens to be an influencer with millions of followers. In the video, Laxmi also stated that, she along with many other people are trying their best to stop such atrocities but then there are influencers like Siddiqui who are glorifying the act.
