Actress Bhawana Aneja to be seen in the show Deewaniyat

MUMBAI: Bhawana Aneja, known for her roles in films like Kavan, Aarambam, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, and Chandramukhi 2, as well as the web series Raisinghani vs. Raisinghani and popular TV shows including Kumkum Bhagya (cameo), Dheere Dheere Se, and Shrimad Ramayan, will soon appear in Deewaniyat. In the series, she plays the female lead's mother, a role she's thrilled to bring to life on-screen.

Reflecting on how she landed the role, Bhawana shared, "My last substantial show was Dheere Dheere Se on Star Bharat, where I played Vidya Chachi, a character that brought me a lot of recognition. Then I did Shrimad Ramayan, portraying Sumitra Rani. Dheere Dheere Se was especially close to my heart, as it truly helped establish me in the industry."

"While working on Ramayan, I got a call about a new project and was in discussions with several production houses. Then, at the last minute, I was cast in Deewaniyat. They liked my profile, and by the next day, I was on set, ready to start shooting. It all happened so fast! I feel incredibly fortunate—it really feels like it was meant to be," she added.

Discussing her role and the show's title, Bhawana said, "Deewaniyat is a term you don’t often hear in daily life. I’m excited about the show, where I’ll play the heroine’s mother, Geeta Malik. Geeta is a traditional Haryanvi woman, a loving mother, and a caring wife. I’m thrilled to explore this character and bring her story to the audience."

With 15 years in the industry, Bhawana feels grateful for her career journey. “Each project shapes us as artists. I primarily worked in the South initially, but now I’m doing more in Mumbai. My career is evolving slowly, and I've learned that patience is essential—especially for an actor.”

She noted that working on a daily show feels like any regular job, explaining, "You go every day and do your work, but with shooting, there’s always a mix of drama, joy, and excitement. I’ve been fortunate to work with wonderful co-actors, and I believe I attract positive people. The energy on set makes the experience enjoyable."

For Bhawana, doing a daily show often feels like being part of a family. "It’s not always the case, but I’ve been lucky to work with amazing people on all my shows. I make an effort to treat everyone like family on set. When you foster positive vibes and genuine bonds, it reflects on screen. The audience can sense that love and connection among the cast. Acting is essential, but so is the camaraderie—it adds something special to the show," she concluded.
