Actress Saumya Tandon shares images of her distributing face shields and masks to various police stations, hospitals, street Vendors, and BMC workers

MUMBAI: Actress Saumya Tandon believes that during these times, it’s imperative that we help out our frontline workers in every way possible. Saumya, who had a few days ago, appealed through her social media that people must support our medical personnel and police not just by staying home but by donating towards their safety, accomplished her target. She recently shared images of her visiting various police stations, hospitals, and BMC workers personally and distributing the face shields, masks and healthcare kits.

Earlier this week Saumya had urged people to contribute towards raising funds to purchase safety kits for the frontline workers. The initiative was started by Ryan Punamia, a 15-year-old boy in her residing in her building, and Saumya was more than happy to help in any way possible. The fundraiser enabled the two to distribute 1000 face shields and safety kits and to Cooper hospital, Amboli police station, Vile Parle police station, Versova police station to name a few, as well as fruit/vegetable street vendors and BMC workers.

Talking about their campaign Saumya says, “It is a gesture of gratitude to those who are risking themselves to keep us safe. I'm glad people contributed wholeheartedly and that we were able to distribute 1000 safety kits. I hope people continue to support this noble cause as the campaign is still on and we can reach many more kits to our brave hearts.” she signs off.
