MUMBAI : While there are many shows in the making, there are also a lot of remakes and adaptations of television shows who take inspiration from Bengali dramas.

The most recent one to launch is Advocate Anjali Awasthi, which is produced by Blues Productions. The show is a remake of Geeta LL.B, a thriller romantic courtroom drama.

Advocate Anjali Awasthi showcases the tale of a fearless Advocate Anjali Awasthi who has to get beyond various hardships and hurdles to achieve her dream of becoming a successful lawyer. Advocate Anjali Awasthi is a strong and fearless character; she craves recognition for her genius, and this compels the audience to root for her cause—justice for the downtrodden.

The show features Shritama Mitra, Ankit Raizada, Vicky Singh Kashyap, Anshul Bammi, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Arsh Merchant, Priya Rore in significant roles.

In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Ankit, he shared how he can relate to his character in the show, how much he is enjoying shooting in Kolkata and his bond with his co-actor Shritama.

Ankit averred, “My character is very relatable. He is a happy-go-lucky person and I have confidence within myself to do it with conviction. The work culture here is quite different. From the editing point of view and other things, the work culture is quite peaceful. Here there are holidays given weekly unlike the shoot culture in Mumbai. Right now I am enjoying this peace as I have been hustling in Mumbai for the past 10 years.”

Speaking about his bond with Shritama Mitra, Ankit mentioned, “ Shritama is a sweet and decent girl. I initially thought that she would have a lot of attitude. But she is very good and has the hunger to grow. We bond together and even rehearse. Shritama belongs to regional cinema. Since there is a communication difference, I help her overcome her diction, though we do have a diction expert on the set.”

Signing off, we asked Ankit about remakes of Bengali shows and creative freedom.

Ankit bid adieu expressing, “There is creative liberty and I give my inputs through which I can improvise my role.”

Well said Ankit!
