Yes, and the news coming in is that she has been finalized to play a crucial role in Sony TV’s much-awaited historical, Bajirao Mastani, produced by Sphereorigins and Invictus T Mediaworks.
As reported by Tellychakkar.com, the show recently had its ‘muhurat’ shot with a special puja being conducted on the sets.
Well, with the cameras starting to roll, there seems to be good news for the loyal TV viewing audience, as work on the show has started in full speed.
As per sources, “Anuja has been locked to play the character of Radhabai, mother to Bajirao. Earlier, the role was supposed to be played by elegant and talented actress Prachi Shah, but there seems to be a change now.”
Wow!! Indeed a different and strong role for Anuja...The last time we saw her on screen, was when she donned the role of an aspiring cricketer for Star Plus’ Tamanna.
Another huge coincidence is that Anuja was part of the illustrious cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Bajirao Mastani. Anuja played the role of Bhiubai, Bajirao’s sister in the blockbuster on the big screen..
And now to play Bajirao’s mother is indeed a challenge for the actress, must say...
Producer Sunjoy Wadhwa confirmed and shared, "Yes, she is being considered for a strong role in the show."

Anuja will be paired opposite Manish Wadhwa, who will play the role of Balaji Vishwanath.
