Tellychakkar.com was the first to break the news of Swastik Pictures’ (Siddharth Tewary’s) Phulwa
going off air. The show will air for the last time on 16 March but its shooting schedule ended yesterday (14 March 2012). Our sources have told that the last day on shoot was quite a “teary” one. What we mean? Well, the actors threw party for the technicians and the crew members to acknowledge their hard work and love for the show. The actors served food and the ambience got filled with sobs and emotionally choked expressions at the time of the cake cutting ceremony.
The gesture, of course, exemplifies the fact that each and every member who worked on Phulwa got attached to it and the show coming to end means nothing but sadness for all. And we are not making things up? Here’s what Ajay Chaudhary aka Abhay has to say, “I am really upset with Phulwa going off air. I believe my character had a lot of potential. My first show was Anurag Kashyap’s Love Story and there I knew when my role would end. But with Phulwa, everything happened too suddenly. I still feel there was lot left in Abhay.”
He further continues, “I did not like the fact that the channel constantly changed the tracks in order to gain TRPs. This trial-and-error basis did not work. However, all said and done, I am happy to have been a part of a cult show like Phulwa. Everyone who has worked with me on the set is very special to me. But I have realised whatever be the concept of the show, somewhere down the line it turns into kitchen politics because of TRPs. So now instead of playing the lead I will prefer standing amongst the crowd in a scene.”
Hmm…Ajay definitely sounds very upset.
Moving on, Sargun Mehta, the lead Phulwa in the soap, agrees to Ajay on a lot of things. “Phulwa is a very strong character and it would have always had potential. I too feel that it should not have gone off-air so soon but then again, we can’t help it, it’s gone now.”
But Sargun by now has got used to the pattern of shows going off-air.
“When Siddharth (Tewary) sir came to me and told that it’s the end of journey for Phulwa, I was shocked. But I have gotten used to the feeling now as the same thing happened with my previous shows 12/ 24 Karol Bagh and Geeta. I was hoping that it will get an extension, but sadly it did not.”
To lighten the air a bit, we asked her if from now on she will watch her boyfriend Ravi Dubey’s show Saas Bina Sasural (Sony Entertainment Television) at 9pm (Phulwa too had a 9pm slot).
“Every Wednesday, when the TRPs got out, I first checked out Saas Bina’s ratings and then Phulwa’s. But from the coming week it will be only Saas Bina…”she ends.
Well, all we can say that Phulwa has been a great show and it has entertained the masses thoroughly. We all will miss it to the core!!!
