Sufi Gharana’s Ali Akbar bids adieu to its audience from Junoon… as he gets eliminated this week.
His mentor Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who was not too happy with the decision asked, “yeh sangeet ki jung hai ya deshon ki, (Is it a war between the singers or nations?). India gave love but no votes.”
In response to this Akbar says, “There are too many reality shows on the block and nobody has enough time to vote. I will not say that the people of India did not support me but its just fate. I thank my producer Gajendra Singh for giving me the chance. I wanted to win but I still have faith and am looking forward to growing in this career.”
“For now I’ll continue to stay in India and build my career,” he quips. When asked whether he will be taking part in any other reality show, he answers, “No more reality shows for me as I have had my share and now want to concentrate on my singing. From now on I’ll sing my own compositions.”
Producer Gajendra Singh who was also disappointed said, “I hoped that Akbar would have survived till the end. I did not expect him to leave so soon. He is a great singer and even Lata Mangeshkar has approved that.”
The episode will be aired today at 8:30 pm
