A hit in the Marathi theatre and film circuit, Anuja Sathe, has successfully made an impact on us with her performance in Star Plus’ Tamanna (Ramesh Deo Productions).
The actress is currently essaying an unconventional character of a young woman, Dhara, who dreams about playing cricket for Indian National Women’s team.
And quite like her character, the lady herself seems to bleed blue.
Yes, an avid watcher of cricket matches, Anuja is surely keeping an eye on her television screen to follow the upcoming World Cup series.
As World Cup 2016 begun from yesterday ( March 8), we buzzed the pretty actor. Catching up with us in between her shots, Anuja quipped, “Last time team India performed well and going by the records of their current matches, they seem pretty confident now. I am hopeful that the team will perform really well and I wish them all the luck."
“We can also not neglect the National Women’s team, who are also performing pretty well in the game, equally capable as their male counterparts”, added Anuja.
So, Anuja how has your experience of playing a female cricketer been? “Mostly it has been great except for the fact that I have ended up injuring myself once, when a ball hit my stomach (laugh). It was really painful, but I know that it goes hand-in-hand with my job,” she said.
While Anuja wishes Team India, we also send our warm wishes to the men in blue!
