A friend in need is a friend indeed! And Aparna Tilak amply proved this to her dear friend Shveta Salve recently while shooting for the military academy based serial, Left Right Left (SAB TV), in which she essays the role of Dr.Shalini Singhal, a jovial and fun-loving medico.
A terrorist attack was being picturised on the outdoor sets of this show, replete with a bomb explosion where everyone had to run helter-skelter and Rajeev Khandelwal was supposed to do a superman dive to save Shveta, who plays Dr. Ritu Mishra, a psychologist in the show. "In the milieu, both of us fell down and the huge kada on my right hand hurt my wrist. Fortunately it was just a ligament tear that got healed with a wrist support I wore for a few days," says Shveta, who is all excited about grooving in Sony's dance show, Jhalak Dikhla Ja. The svelte actress is used to doing her own stunts as she reveals, "For an episode in CID (Sony) I performed a 100ft jump, of course with suspensions."
When she fell, the cast and crew jokingly called out to Dr.Shalini (that is Aparna Tilak) to attend the patient. But Aparna took it seriously and quickly responded by helping out her co-star and best friend. "As soon as she saw the swelling on my wrist, she perfunctorily acted doctor on the sets and kept an ice-pack and sprayed a medication", informs Shveta. Incidentally, Aparna's husband is a doctor and so her acquired first-aid knowledge came in handy.
Now that's some sort of a remarkable deed of putting your knowledge instinctively into action!
