Audiences have experienced the magic and charm of various superheroes on screen with supernatural powers. Now with Star Plus’s Arjun, the makers (Four Lions Productions) promise the viewers to give a modern superhero of the ‘generation’.
Furthermore, to make the character of Arjun look more authentic, the producers have roped in Shaleen Malhotra (earlier reported by Tellychakkar.com). Coming to the character, Arjun is angry but an honest cop, who can go to any extent to eradicate crime from the nation. Victory over evil is his motto. In a candid talk with Shaleen, he shared his views on being a super hero of the generation.
“Hailing from a defense background, discipline is inbuilt in me. Therefore essaying a character like Arjun didn’t make me feel different. I think, Shaleen is Arjun and Arjun is Shaleen. The only difference between me and Arjun is: he is in uniform while I am not. We both are on a platter when it comes to thinking and execution.”
As the show is all about a cop, Arjun whose aim is to destroy crime all around with the help of ETF (Emergency Task Force) of which he is part of, he has to go through a lot of stunts. Has any kind of body double been used till now? “No, though there are a lot of stunts being incorporated in the show, and I haven’t used any body doubles. All you have to do is, close your eyes, forget everything for a minute and just do it.”
“In fact, there was a stunt where I had to jump on the containers which were almost 66 feet down, which indeed made me scared but as I said before, all I did was hold my breath and nailed it,” he further stated.
As Shaleen is essaying a superhero, we are sure the audience must be eager to know who Shaleen’s superhero in real life.
“Well, I will not state any vague speech but a superhero one. According to me, the middle class man who works hard whole day for his family and still does not complain about it is a super hero. Superheroes without supernatural powers cannot do something like this.”
So what power do you feel you have to essay the role of Arjun, the superhero? “He has only one power and that is truth,” Shaleen answered.
“Toh Samjhe…Ya Samjhau?” signed off Shaleen with a takiya kalaam which audience will see Arjun using in the show.
We wish the whole team of Arjun best of luck!
