It does not take much time for things to go topsy-turvy. And creatives at Balaji Telefilms are experiencing it to the core.
Before moving on, we must clarify that we are talking about the production house’s show on Zee TV, Pavitra Rishta.
Tellychakkar.com was the first portal which broke the news of protagonist Ankita Lokhande (Archana) playing a double role post an impending sequential leap.
This would mean Ankita playing an elderly as well as a younger character. However, the rest of the newer lot would age.
Thus, came in a glitch in the scheme of things and the entire current crop of young junta decided to move out of the project (as reported by us).
Now we must share that Shakti Arora (Dr Onir) and Jia Mustafa (Pooni) have confirmed to Tellychakkar about quitting Pavitra Rishta.
Said Shakti: “Post the leap, I have nothing substantial to play. I just did not want to be any other character standing back in the crowd. Hence, I decided to opt out. I am looking out for better lead roles in TV and of course, stint in films.”
“I put down my papers a week ago as lately I was not too happy with my character. And the leap just added to the entire feeling of not being content and thus I thought of moving out. But I am still in talks with the production house and things may or may not work out. Chances of working out are less though,” said Jia.
Furthermore, we also have confirmed reports of Rithvik Dhanjani (Arjun), Asha Negi (Purvi) and Shruti Kanwar (Ovi) quitting Pavitra Rishta.
We got in touch with Shruti and she said, “Yes, I am leaving the show post the leap.”
Rithvik remained unavailable, however Asha shared, “I wouldn’t be able to continue working in the show post the leap. I wouldn’t want to comment any further.”
Now that we have confirmation on majority of actors leaving the Balaji show, we wondered what could have been the reason for the sudden mass exodus.
Said an actor on grounds of anonymity: “All are grieved and leap is not the only reason. We all are hurt with the way the production people have been behaving with us. For them, it’s all about listening to Ankita and nothing else. It seems she is the only one who is important for the show and everyone else has no role to play. Thus, the mass exit.”
To verify the actor’s claims, we sent an sms to producer Ekta Kapoor but she chose not to respond.
We also called up Ankita and even texted her, but she too decided not to speak out on the issue.
Tellychakkar.com will keep a keen eye on the development and will soon come up with more updates!!!
