MUMBAI: Imlie is one of the most successful shows on television and has done well on TRP charts since it has hit the screens.
The leads of the show, Sumbul and Gashmeer are loved as an on-screen couple and have a good fan following. Their characters have become household names. Viewers like the banter between Imlie, Aditya, and Mayuri, and no wonder the show is doing so well.
Imlie as a character is very innocent and gullible and that’s what connects to the audience. One of the reasons that the show is so successful is because of the camaraderie and the good friendship rapport that the star cast has among themselves. However, off late, the show has become very static and the audience feels that the show needs to speed up its drama.
Take a look at what the audience has to say:
Veer Zane shared, “One of the weirdest type of storytelling I've ever seen. The show is about a girl from village who goes to Delhi for completing her education but they show her getting married to a smart and educated man (Aditya Tripathi) and then he also marries Malini (a college professor) and the show now focuses on their love story. There's nothing I can appreciate instead of the acting. Everytime I watch it I fall asleep now a days as most of the time the shows twist and consequences aren't even capable of catching my attention. Malini is lying about having a boyfriend. I cannot see the reason behind stretching the drama. Get divorced and start a life! I expected character development but it's just a random drama daily soap. It just loses its entire potential and quality.”
Leena Halmarkar said, “One of the best serial I have ever watched. Realistic and simple story. No overdrama. Has great actors like Sumbul Toquer doing such a great work and Gashmeer Mahajani is also handsome. Both do justice to their characters and have great chemistry together. Love the knok-jhok and appreciate the casting of new faces. It is a must-watch show because of its effective story and great acting of all main and supporting casts. The current drama is also interesting as Imlie and Aditya’s love story is evolving.
Sandip Gaikwad opined, “I like Mayuri Deshmukh in the show. The show has a good story but there are long turning points. Also the show is moving from the reality. Nobody keeps the forced married spouse in his own house. The narration also needs to improve.”
Swati Urmil averred, “This is one of the best shows on Indian Television. This is the only show I watch and everything is so realistic and perfect, the cinematography, background, music, the main couple song phenomenal performance by the actor's everyone deserves a standing ovation. This show is getting better day by day. I'm happy that the makers didn't made the characters black or white but instead grey as every person is flawed. The show is going perfect in my view and presents the highpoints just in time!”
Khushi Thakkar said, “Initially the serial looked interesting but as the story developed, it make me run away from watching this nonsense. A man running to two women and his feelings change in no time. The funny part is he is married to them, one by force and one because he loved her. Generally if you are forced to marry someone you have the options to get out of such a marriage. Looks like they are in prehistoric era. What’s more, married and that to with women who eventually turned out to be sisters! The drama would have been a little more interesting if it was fast paced. I think they need to bring in a big twist soon else the viewers will lose interest. “
