Audience Verdict: Television shows like Anupamaa, Imlie, Udaariyaan and others follow the trend of ‘Women leaving the house’; is it a FLOP SHOW?

We have seen many shows taking their track the Bollywood way where they follow the trail of some Bollywood situations. But looks like now, the shows are opting for a consistent trend too!

MUMBAI: Television shows are one of the best mediums of entertainment from more than a decade and not only do we love watching all the unique content on television but also recall all the best of memories from previous shows.

We have seen many shows taking their track the Bollywood way where they follow the trail of some Bollywood situations. But looks like now, the shows are opting for a consistent trend too!

Television shows have found a new liking to women being independent and leaving the house. Sure feminism does come into play but we can also see that women, especially those who are housewives and the ones people can only expect to compromise and live in that ‘char diwar ka ghar’ taking a strong stand for themselves and moving ahead with their head on their shoulders.

For instance, we have Anupamaa, who was initially a housewife, moving on to exploring her business streak and finding love too in her journey to Imlie who used to let Aditya take a call on their relationship, now putting all of that behind and promising that she will never forgive Aditya and moving out of the house. A similar situation is found also in Udaariyan on Colors.

As for Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, we have been watching Sai leave the house time and again and now it is high time she takes a call whether she wants to stay with Virat or not!

Let us take a look at what our audience has to say.

Rahul Sisodia shares, “I have noticed that dramas often follow the similar league however, it is interesting too.”

Shikha Shah says, “During festivals, all shows project similar drama and it is predictable that there will be some twists introduced amid celebrations. I think it is interesting to see how each show serves entertainment differently following the same pattern.”

Namrata Singh opines, “I believe in variations. Why would the audience want to see the same kind of storyline being followed in every show? I find this very boring!”

Renuka Makwana mentions, “These days shows are anyway very boring. It would be nice to see something different being offered through each show. The drama is always around kitchen politics so it would be a nice change if the makers played around with the plot.”

Raksha Kadam averred, “Though television is entertaining there are some episodes where the audience just sits through to pass their time and when the track gets similar across shows, I feel that it hits a saturation for the audience because though the audience is being served the drama by different shows, the track which the premise revolves around is the same. “
