MUMBAI: Television heartthrob Avinash Mishra, known for his charismatic screen presence and growing popularity, has once again captured attention—this time for his candid views on a hotly debated topic surrounding Bigg Boss.

Avinash, who rose to fame with his remarkable journey on Bigg Boss Season 19, where he secured the position of second runner-up, became a household name not only for his gameplay but also for his heartfelt bond with fellow contestants Eisha Singh and Alice Kaushik. Their connection, both inside and beyond the house, created quite a stir among fans and media alike.

Now, in an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Avinash addressed the ongoing rumours about the makers of Bigg Boss choosing to exclude influencers and YouTubers from the show’s next edition.

What’s your take on influencers and YouTubers allegedly being banned from Bigg Boss?

“I honestly believe this could be a strategic rumour, possibly circulated to convince television actors to sign on at the last minute,” Avinash responded. “But if it’s true—if the makers have genuinely decided to exclude influencers and YouTubers—it would be one of the most sensible and welcome decisions taken in a long time.”

The actor elaborated, “We spend years honing our craft through theatre, television, and films before being offered a platform like Bigg Boss, which is undoubtedly the biggest reality show in India. On the other hand, many influencers and YouTubers often rely on controversial antics to gain attention and make their way into the show. That sends the wrong message to the younger generation.

What message do you feel this trend sends to the youth?

Avinash didn’t mince words. “We’re basically telling the youth: if you want to enter Bigg Boss, create a controversy, behave outrageously, and chase headlines. That’s the fast-track ticket to fame. And for that, I blame the makers. They introduced this trend by including influencers and giving them a platform, which in turn normalised their presence.”

He added, “Let’s not forget, Bigg Boss is hosted by none other than Salman Khan—it’s a prestigious show. As actors, we dedicate years of effort and passion to reach this point. There is a clear distinction between trained professionals and social media personalities.”

With growing debates online about whether Bigg Boss should exclusively feature actors, Avinash’s strong opinion has found resonance with a large section of the audience. While opinions remain divided, there’s no denying that his remarks have reignited a larger conversation about merit, representation, and the future of Indian reality television.
