Ayushmann Khurrana tweets...calls Ravana "gay with multiple partners"; says "has not attacked any religious sentiments"

VJ turned film actor Ayushmann Khurrana created a flutter on Twitter yesterday (24 October 2012) when he wrote in some unparliamentary language about the demon king Ravana on the occasion of Dussehra. The very provocative tweet which we can’t publish due to decency laws indicated that the 10 headed king of Lanka was gay (homosexual) with multiple partners. However, Ayushmann, who gained fame with the movie Vicky Donor averred, “I don’t think I have done anything wrong for I have not attacked Lord Ram. Don’t we always condemn Ravana and burn him every year?”

Don’t we always condemn Ravana and burn him every year?” This upcoming People’s Choice Awards (Colors) host further added, “Most people have taken my tweet in the right lighter spirit with only a few getting offended. To them I would like to say that we have Freedom of Speech and that our Hindu religion is very flexible with digs on Gods.” Talking about the Twitter chatter he stated, “It is sad most people don’t use their right of Freedom of Expression right and prefer to remain diplomatic on this micro blogging site. But that is not me. I have always written such tongue-in-cheek tweets, it’s just that I am only getting more noticed now.” However… in a bid to douse rousing flames, Ayushmann later tweeted again saying, “Was little blasphemous for some on this auspicious day. Sorry I don't understand religion. Just makes us less tolerant.” Could this tweet be a publicity stunt for his upcoming Rohan Sippy film, Nautanki Saala where he plays a character who is Ravana like but has the name Ram. Well…your guess is as good as ours… But we are sure Ravana would have had a little heart attack with someone calling him “gay” (wink, wink).
