Speaking to BT, Shardool said that he had quit acting in 2012 and was working in UAE, but he decided to return to Mumbai three years later as he started missing the camera. After that, he played the lead in 'Kuldeepak' and also hosted a cricket show (Box Cricket League).  His show ended and his payment got stuck.

He was in talks with projects which didn't materialize. It’s been eight months that the actor is facing a financial crunch, and his savings, too, dried up during this lockdown. He is keeping unwell for almost a year with three relapses of jaundice. He had to let go of the reality show, 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge', because of that.

The actor even mentioned that he slipped into depression following a string of rejections, failures, and prolonged health woes. He even consulted a therapist last November and was surrounded by friends like Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava, who stood by him.

Now he has no option but to leave the city as he has to pay the rent and meet other expenses. Even if he bags a project, the money will come after three months as per the industry rule.
