Barkha can’t dance saala

Bahu Barkha Bisht is making saas Mahru Sheikh dance to her tunes. Barkha, who is currently waging a battle against Mahru Sheikh in Sahara One’s dance reality show Saas vs Bahu, is very fussy when it comes to choosing her track for the dance. If she isn’t comfortable, then our dear bahu doesn’t mind changing it at the eleventh hour. New has it that Barkha wasn’t comfortable in dancing to the track ‘Yeh Mera Dil’ from Don. She then requested the producers to change the song to ‘Hum ko aaj kal hai’ from her favourite star Madhuri Dixit’s film Sailaab. Defending her move, she says, “I have a very simple logic. If you want to dance well, you have to like the song. And I know my limitations as a dancer so I want to choose a song that I think I can do well. I don’t want to dance if I can’t do justice to it.” Well, that’s fine when you are giving a solo but what if you’re doing a duet? After all, you need to think about your partner’s needs as well. Unfortunately, no one informed Mahru, who had even begun her rehearsals for the earlier track. When she was finally told, Mahru requested Barkha not to change the track as it would be difficult for a slow learner like her to cope with. Barkha though stuck to her guns and rather encouraged Mahru to try for the new track. After much cajoling, Mahru finally acceded to her request. “Mahru is a sweetheart and very, very co-operative. Imagine, when she came the next day she has already practiced a lot of the new song (Taal se taal mila). I was so touched by her gesture! So, we had some dance steps changed and made easier for her to cope with. This was the least I could do for her,” says Barkha.
