MUMBAI: In February of this year, actor-producer Taher Shabbir and his spouse, artist and businesswoman Akshita Gandhi, welcomed a baby boy into the world. The actor, who would rather live his private life out of the spotlight, told us why he hasn't announced the birth of his child on social media, despite the fact that this is now customary.

Tahir who has won million of hearts with his performances in shows like Bepannaah and Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, said, “My father (Shabbir Mithaiwala) showered us with so much love and care, that I always had this secret desire to become a father since the age of 14! I was thrilled when Akshita and I had our baby boy, Adam, a few months ago. Every moment with my little one is amazing. I am enjoying my daddy duties and watching my child grow.”

He revealed why he didn’t announce to the world when his son was born saying, “I am a very private person. I don’t like posting pictures of my family on social media. I don’t feel there is anything wrong with people posting their family or holiday pictures, it’s just that I like to keep my family album to myself.”

Speaking of marrying international artist Akshita Gandhi, Taher said, “When I got married two years ago, I was so busy prepping for the wedding and then travelling with my wife that I never got the opportunity to talk about it. I also prefer not to talk about my personal life so much. I have been very happy in the last two years and life has been good.”

He added, “Marriage is all about meeting the right person at the right time. Also, both the things are important because you could meet the right person at the wrong time and that would not help you in taking the right decision. So, when I met Akshita, let's say everything fell rightly in place. I met her during the pandemic through common friends. We were both wanting to settle down at that time with a good companion and when we met, I felt that she was a very bright and humble lady. She is an international artist and both of us connected a lot over art. And then, we decided to get married.”
