MUMBAI: Kumkum Bhagya is currently one of the most popular television shows. The gripping tale has been entertaining the audience with its interesting twists and turns. While the cast members are leaving no stone unturned to entertain the viewers, one member bid adieu to the show recently to embrace motherhood. She is none other than the gorgeous Pooja Banerjee who played the role of Rhea Mehra in the show.
Pooja Banerjee is due next month. The makers have now roped in Tina Philip to play the part. Talking about stepping into the shoes of Pooja and her approach towards the character, Tina told TOI, "I have watched Pooja's work and she was amazing as Rhea. The show has been running for eight years and obviously has a great team behind it without which it would not be possible to reach where it is today. So, I'm going to follow their guidance to ensure that my take on the character is as loved as it was before."
This is the second time in a row that Tina is replacing an actor on a TV show. Previously, she had taken over Bhumika Gurung in Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2. While she agrees that it is challenging to replace someone, she insists these challenges make the journey of an artiste interesting. She shares, "It is definitely challenging, especially when the previous actor has done a swell job at playing the character. So, it will be really hard to match up to Pooja, but I will give it my all and play it sincerely."
