Bigg Boss 2 seems to have knack of upsetting political groups. First it was the Republican Party of India activists who went on a rampage at the Colors’ office in wake of their party president being snubbed by Bigg Boss . Now, it’s the Mumbai Youth Congress Committee who have lodged a complaint of indecency against Bigg Boss. Following their complaint an FIR was registered by the Lonavala Police Station against three contestants – Rahul Mahajan, Payal Rohatgi and Sambhavna Seth. Mumbai Youth Congress Committee president Sunil Ahire says, “We lodged a complaint on October 4 against the channel and the production house at Andheri police station. This is not a personal decision, but I’ve been informed by people around me that they find the show very obscene and they wanted us to take some action against it. This show is mainly watched by the youth and even 5-10 year old kids watch it. Exposing them to vulgarity will only have a detrimental effect on our younger generation. The likes of Payal, Rahul and Sambhavana have been behaving in a shameless manner.” Did Congress spokesman Sanjay Nirupam, an evictee from Bigg Boss 2 , influence this move? After all, he too refused the wild card citing that the show had got very vulgar. The MYCC president though refused to accept it. “No, Sanjay Nirupam has absolutely nothing to do with this move. This is a decision taken by us. Our objection is against the channel and especially the show’s editors. Through the 24 hours that they spend in the house, why is it that you want to show only the vulgar content,” said Sunil Ahire. However, there is no reason to worry for Colors or the production house (Endemol India). Today, the producers of the show and the channel had filed petition in Mumbai High Court seeking orders for quashing of FIR filed for the alleged offence of obscenity in relation to the show Bigg Boss 2 . Senior advocate Mr. Ashok Mundargi along with Mr. Ameet Naik appeared for the producer and channel. “Hon'ble High Court judge Mrs. Justice Tahilramani was pleased to pass interim order directing state (including police) not to take any coercive measures including arrest against either the participants of show or against officers of production house or the Channel. Therefore, the show " Bigg Boss 2 " will not be affected in any manner and will go on as per planned schedule. Matter will come up before High Court on 24 October 2008 for quashing of complaint. We are hopeful that the complaint would be quashed on the next date,” said the two lawyers.
