Bollywood gives Dev Anand's cremation a miss?

Bollywood was strangely absent at the weekend cremation of cinematic legend Dev Anand who died in London a week ago or so. The only close representation came from Sahara group chief worker Subroto Roy who flew to London to be at the funeral which was attended by around 200 people; among whom featured Indian High Commissioner in Britain, Rajesh Prasad and Lord Meghnad Desai. Sahara Shri even took out a little display ad in memory of his dear friend in all editions of national dailies.

Now those who could not jet it to the cremation service can now foot it to the condolence prayer meeting for Anand which is to be held this Friday 16 December 2011 in Mumbai’s Mehboob studios. Expect a full house, as Bollywood rushes to make amends for what it should have done anyway.
