Celebs share their Raksha Bandhan plans!

MUMBAI: India is a country of festivals and the festive season is about, to begin with, Raksha Bandhan. But because of the Coronavirus pandemic and the various precautionary measures and state-wise regulations, it's a little difficult to travel this year for Rakhi. But as they say, love knows no distance, here are some celebrities sharing their Raksha Bandhan plans for this year.

Shashank Vyas: My sister is married and lives in Jodhpur, so since the past 11 years I have been getting a Rakhi by post. She is very simple, in fact, I tell her that you can't be like this in today's world. I remember how we used to fight when we were kids and now I see her playing the role of a mother, daughter-in-law, and wife. And she is managing all that so beautifully.

Pranitaa Pandit: I was really expecting my brother to be with me this year for Rakhi considering I am pregnant. It was supposed to be a good celebration time, but I think it will just be a video call. My sister, who lives in Delhi, will go and tie Rakhi on my behalf. The first thing that comes in my mind about my brother is that he gives the best advice. He always tells me the truth and his honest opinion, he doesn't try to comfort me with any unrealistic expectations about life or any relationship or situation. I know when I need a reality check I need to go to him.

Meera Deosthale: My brother has been in Canada for the past three years. So every year on Rakhi we send each other gifts. While I send Rakhi and sweets from here, he sends a lot of presents for me. He is younger to me so whenever our mom was not there I would act like his mom. But on some days we fought like cats and dogs. After I shifted to Mumbai, our equation matured, if he visited me here, and I got late from my shoots he will always be up waiting for me. He will ask me about my day and he used to make amazing Maggi for me. He was supposed to be home for Rakhi but then this pandemic happened and now I guess we have to wait for another year.

Srman Jain: For the first time in life it will be a virtual Raksha Bandhan for me. Being a Punjabi, Rakhi has always been special for us because you and your sister are the centre of attraction on that day. It's a great feeling. I don’t think I will be missing anything because we can always do a video call and I believe you need to have those beautiful emotions and sentiments, and that's there for me. From the industry, Sargun Mehta and Sanaya Irani tie Rakhi to me. Last year, me and Sargun, both of us were in UK shooting for her Punjabi film so she tied the Rakhi to me on the set. But this year she is in Punjab and even Sanaya has gone to meet her brother, so I am going to miss both of them. This year I will be alone and I will really miss everyone.
