MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is television industry's fourth longest-running Hindi TV show that has entertained it's audience and fans right from day 1 of it's commencement to the present. The show first premiered on 12 January 2009 and is still airing on the small-screen with almost no change in it's number of followers.
The show initially focussed on the bonding and the evolution of it's lead couple - Akshara-Naitik (played by telly actors Hina Khan and Karan Mehra respectively) and over the time-span of almost 7 years, the show's focus shifted onto the next generation's lead couple - Kartik-Naira (played by actors Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi). However, the latter on-screen couple is more popular than the former due to Kartik-Naira's irresistible and sizzling on-screen chemistry.
Also, owing to the show highlighting upon the existence of the other supporting characters around like Kartik and Naira's family members, the various personal level problems and issues faced by these characters are also showcased on the small-screen.
Currently, the show's plot focusses on Naira's replacement character Sirat's story (who's also played by Shivangi Joshi) and how is her life getting webbed around that of Kartik and the Goenkas for being Naira's doppelganger.

1. Hina Khan
Actress Hina Khan who played the role of Akshara hails from Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) and has her parents and her younger brother Aamir Khan.
2. Karan Mehra
YRKKH's most adored Naitik was actor Karan Mehra hands down. He belongs from a Jalandhar-based Punjabi family which includes his parents, brother and a sister. Currently, his own family consists of his wife Nisha Rawal (whom he married in 2012 after dating for 6 years) and their baby son, who was born in 2017.
3. Shivangi Joshi
Our beloved on-screen Naira and Sirat from the same show hail from Dehradun (Uttarakhand) but was born in Pune. She stays with her parents and two siblings - a brother named Samarth Joshi and a sister named Sheetal Joshi.
4. Mohsin Khan
Mohsin aka Kartik hails from Gujarat-based middle-class Muslim family. His real-life family includes his father Abdul Waheed Khan, mother Mehzabin Khan, sister Zeba Ahmed, brother-in-law Dr. Taha Ahmed and younger brother Sajjad Khan.
5. Rishi Dev
Rishi played the role of an adult Naksh till before Shehzad Shaikh replaced him. He hails from Mumbai (Maharashtra) and his family comprises of his parents and his siblings - a brother and sister Muskaan Sharma.
6. Rohan Mehra
Rohan played the role of teen-Naksh. He hails from Amritsar (Punjab) and belongs to a family of his parents and siblings - a brother named Siddhart Mehra and sister named Ritika Mehra.
7. Simran Khanna
Simra played the role of Gayatri Goenka in YRKKH and hails from a Mumbai (Maharashtra) based Punjabi family, which comprises of her father and sister Chahat Khanna, who is also an Indian television actress and host. Her mother passed away after suffering a heart-attack in 2019. Simran also is the mother of her son Vineet, who's custody is under her former husband and businessman Bharat Dudhani, whom she parted ways with in 2020.
8. Ashnoor Kaur
She played the role of junior Naira. Ashnoor's family comprises of her parents only.
9. Amardeep Jha
Actress Amardeep Jha played the role of Shankari Taai in the show. She had lost her husband after a few years of her marriage and her family currently comprises only of her daughter Shriya Jha, who's also an actress.
10. Sandeep Mehta
He played the role of Naitik's father and hails from Jalgaon in Maharashtra. Not much is known in details about his family but he hails from a joint family and is single till date.
11. Kshitee Jog
Kshitee played the role of Naitik's second and step-mom. She hails from Mumbai and belongs to a family of Marathi actors as both her parents - Anant Jog and Ujwala Jog were actors. She got married to Marathi actor Hemant Dhome in 2012.
12. Harsha Khandeparkar
Harsha's hometown is Goa and her family comprises of her parents and brother Nilesh Khandeparkar. She plays the role of Naksh's wife and Kartik's elder sister - Keerti Singhania.
13. Niyati Joshi
Niyati plays the role of Swarna Goenka - Kartik's step-mother. She originally hails from Pune (Maharashtra) and her family comprises of her parents and sister - Payal Joshi.
14. Sachin Tyagi
Actor Sachin who plays the role of Manish Goenka, was married to actress Rakshanda Khan in 2014. The couple is blessed with 3 daughters - Pari Tyagi, Saadhvi Tyagi and Enaya Tyagi.
15. Ali Hassan
Ali plays Kartik's uncle's role (Akhilesh Goenka) in YRKKH. He hails from Mumbai and had married his spouse Sabah in July 2007. The duo is blessed with a daughter - Inaaya in 2013.
16. Shilpa Raizada
She plays Akhilesh's wife Surekha Goenka. She hails from Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and her family comprises of her parents and siblings, a brother and a sister.
17. Anmol and Apoorv Jyotir
The show's beloved twins Luv and Kush are played by these real-life twin brothers. These two started off their career as child actors. They hail from Mumbai and their father Prashant Jyotir is also an actor. Their family comprises of their parents.
