MUMBAI: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma has been one of the most popular shows on television for almost a decade. Each character is well-defined, and the actors have played their roles so efficiently that the show and its characters have managed to maintain their place in the hearts of the audiences as they did when it all started.
TV actress Disha Vakani, who is much loved as Daya on the show, rose to prominence with this show, and since then, there has been no looking back for her. Her character Dayaben is so popular that it is difficult to imagine her in any other get-up. Rumours of her being replaced on the show have been doing the rounds, but over the years, the actress had become the face of the show, and if she happens to opt out of it, it would be heart-breaking for her fans.
However, if we were to welcome a new Daya, we are sure the makers would make some changes to the character's appearance too, to introduce a fresh feel to what we have been seeing over the years.
Here is our list of possible changes.
We feel Dayaben’s sarees could be designed differently with a more modern touch. She can also be shown wearing different salwar kameezes and other outfits in the ethnic wear segment apart from sarees.
Although her lingo has a pure Gujarati essence, her lifestyle can be shown to be a little more lavish. Apart from that, we feel the makers can experiment with the hairstyle and buns, as she has always been spotted wearing the classic low bun on most occasions.
In addition, we think she can accessorize herself by wearing different coloured and variety of bangles to suit the occasion.
These are just some of our thoughts on revamping or rebooting the character of Dayaben.
