MUMBAI: For years, CID reigned supreme as one of Indian television’s most iconic crime dramas, with ACP Pradyuman at the helm – a role immortalised by the legendary Shivaji Satam.

Alongside his trusted team, Inspector Abhijeet and Inspector Daya, Pradyuman became the very symbol of justice and moral integrity. Their unshakable bond and razor-sharp investigative instincts kept audiences glued to their screens for decades.

With Satam stepping away from the spotlight, the series ushered in a new chapter, introducing popular television heartthrob Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushman.

His entry brought a wave of freshness to the show, yet fans were quick to detect an air of mystery surrounding the new character. As episodes unfolded, suspicion grew — especially when Ayushman was seen in a tense phone call, cryptically declaring, “Everything is going according to plan,” while Abhijeet and Daya voiced visible frustration with his methods.

This simmering intrigue, however, has reached an unexpected conclusion. In a recent interview, Parth Samthaan confirmed that he would be bidding farewell to CID, as his character's arc nears its end.

Speaking candidly, the actor shared, “I was brought in for a special appearance, which later got extended. But now, with Shivaji sir returning to the show, it's time for me to step aside and make way for the original ACP Pradyuman.”

Parth’s presence in the series sparked a significant reaction online, with many fans expressing their disappointment over what they perceived as a replacement for the iconic Satam.

However, with the beloved ACP now making his much-anticipated comeback, audiences can breathe a sigh of relief as the classic essence of CID is restored.

As the show continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how ACP Pradyuman’s return will shape future storylines. One thing is certain — the legacy of CID lives on, stronger than ever.
