Controversy: Original cast to be REPLACED; no actor will not be retained in Colors Balika Vadhu season 2?

MUMBAI: There are a lot of TV shows which were a huge hit earlier coming back on television.

We have seen the return of shows such as Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2, Kasautii Zindagii Kay in a rebooted version and recently it was Sasural Simar Ka 2 has made its entry. Well, Tellychakkar.com now hears that superhit show of 2008, Balika Vadhu produced by Sphere Origins, will make a comeback on television.

However, according to rumour mills, the show will have an absolutely new set of characters and the original cast will not be retained. Sources close to the channel shared on the condition of anonymity that new actors bring in freshness to a project and hence the original actors will not be cast for the show. However, an actor who has been close to the project said that some actors from a cast need to be retained to set the rhythm of another season.

Balika Vadhu aired on Colors TV between 21 July 2008 and 31 July 2016 and ran for 2245 episodes becoming the longest-running Indian television series on Colors TV. The story is set in rural Rajasthan and revolves around the life of a child bride transitioning from her childhood to womanhood.

The soap opera's first season focuses on Anandi and Jagdish, who were married in childhood. The second season reflects on the life of Anandi's daughter, Dr. Nandini (a.k.a. Nimboli) who was also a child bride. Balika Vadhu was credited as the first Indian drama to complete 2000 episodes.
