Pretty face Jigyasa Singh is all set to debut on Indian television with Colors’ latest venture Thapki Pyaar Ki (SOL & Shoonya Square Productions), which promises to churn out a different kind of social drama about a young girl, Thapki, with a stammering problem.
When caught up with Jigyasa at the launch, and speaking about the show, she said, “The serial will trace the journey of a young girl, who would want to become a television anchor and how she would turn her weakness into her strength. I believe this daily will be an inspiring one for everyone and I don’t want anyone to think that speech difficulty can stop someone from pursuing their dreams.”
Jigyasa, who herself suffers from certain speech difficulties in real life, mentioned that the role is challenging enough for herself. “Generally someone stammers when they are not comfortable in a certain situation but it can be sorted out with proper guidance from the experts. For this particular character I had to undergo speech therapy to learn proper mannerisms. Apart from that I believe that the natural flow in the script is very much needed rather than portraying a speech disorder artificially.”
The young, charming lady, before signing off, also shared about her journey stating that she was interested in the glamour world for a long time. “I was always inclined towards creative profession and was actively involved with dramatics during my school and college days. Later on I also did one regional show before stepping into the scenario of national television”.
As the new talent takes a step forward in her career, we wish her all the best.
