Daisy Irani to play cool granny in Balaji's next show

Balaji’s most ambitious project Fashion on Star One has been in the news on and off. However, the latest that is coming in from the sets is that veteran actress Daisy Irani has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the show. A source close to the production house states that the story is loosely based on earlier popular Balaji shows Kasamh Se and Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai. Set up against the back drop of Chandigarh, its pilot is currently being shot. The protagonist is a small town girl who falls in love with a celebrity and a new face Gulki Joshi has been cast to play the female lead. “Daisy Irani who is currently seen in Doordarshan’s show Pehchaan has been finalised to play the female lead’s grandmother in the show,” discloses the source. We got in touch with Daisy Irani who candidly and jokingly stated that her character is that of a fun loving grandmother and “it has to be fun, after all I'm playing it.” She added: “It has got a comic element to it and I am playing a Punjabi lady. Though we have just started shooting in bits and pieces but it’s still fun on the sets. I am very excited to play the character and I am really looking forward to the show.” Awesome grandma!
