The festival of Diwali is usually associated with bright lights, loud firecrackers, pujas and mithai. But what with animated debates on the merits of eco-friendly Diwali doing rounds this year, many in Mumbai, including the celebrities preferred to have a noiseless Diwali celebration.
Rather than taking to the outdoors bursting crackers, they took to celebrating the festival in the quiet confines with friends and relatives.
One such fabulously hosted party happened at actress Deepshikha Nagpal’s house, wherein she along with her close friends from the industry preferred to play various card and board games.
What’s more? We hear that all the players seemed to have a blast till the wee hours.
Apparently, the game was initiated by actor Indra Kumar and he was quickly joined by first timer Kashmera Shah, Ashiesh Roy and Deepshikha herself. As the game got serious and the stakes kept climbing, they were joined in the revelry by actress and producer Vandana Sajnani Khattar, actress Payal Malhotra, Deepshikha’s sister Aarti, actor Odie Khan, designer Kanwaljit Singh and actor Kaishav Arora. Rounds of tea, coffee and snacks flew fast and furious as Deepshikha played the perfect hostess in between rounds of high stake wins and losses.
Kashmera learnt to play quite fast with the help of Indra Kumar and she rode her beginner’s luck and won quite handsomely. And so did Ashiesh Roy and later Indra Kumar. The games were played in the festive spirit, with Ashiesh distributing most of his winnings amongst Deepshikha, her sister Aarti and Indra Kumar so that they could continue playing.
At around 6pm, everyone went home for Lakshmi pujan, with promises to meet up later over mithai. All in all, a nice, classy Diwali spent by these classy celebrities.
Indeed, this seems to be a fabulous Diwali celebration!!
