Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev has helped me speak the language in its purest form - Suhasi Dhami

Suhasi Dhami
The dashing Suhasi Dhami has enchanted the television viewing audience through her fabulous performances in shows such as Aaj Ki Housewife Hai... Sab Jaanti Hai, Nach Baliye 5 and more particularly through Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. As she makes her comeback with Life OK’s Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (Triangle Film Productions) after a brief span of 8 to 9 months, we spoke to her about her experience on the show and on her sabbatical period. Suhasi said, “Zee TV was a great platform as it helped me get immense recognition for my talent via Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. Since it had a large viewership not only in India but also abroad, I planned to travel to USA and other countries and reached out to my fans out there. I had a great experience looking at the way people were crazy about my character Abha. Apart from that, I was pursuing my hobbies for which I never got time for such as learning Table Tennis, swimming and participating in the Mumbai Marathon.” Suhasi claimed that as she was offered Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, she could not keep herself from not taking up the show for the love of performing different and distinguished characters. The talented lady added some thought, “This is the first time I am doing a mythological show and I am truly enjoying shooting here. I have improved my communication in Hindi. We tend to use a lot of Urdu words while speaking in Hindi and this show has helped me speak the language in its purest form. I do not see any reason why any actor would refrain from taking up a mythological show. I mean everything including the outfits make me look more beautiful. Now, the mythological shows are much more subtle in nature and people can relate to it better.” “Infact, Mohit (Raina) once told me of how his neighbors treated him like the real Mahadev and wanted to bathe him with milk. It may sound funny but that’s the connect today’s mythological shows have had with the viewers unlike the previous ones," she added. Suhasi who has majorly been doing positive roles has now taken up a mythological show. Ask her what roles would she love to take up in the near future and she quipped, “Well, I would really like to essay a negative role but the only problem is that when an actor essays a negative, the audience loves to hate the character and starts accepting the actor in similar roles. It is very difficult to make a shift to positive roles thereafter. I would love to essay a negative role, but not sometime in the near future." We wish the lady luck and success!!!
