The new face of Balaji Telefilms, Dimple Jhangiani is leaving no stone unturned for her debut in Kuchh Is Tara. Playing the role of Kanya, a middle class girl the show will be on air from today on Sony.
In a free wheeling chat with tellychakkar, the actress spoke about her work, her personal front and much more.On Kuchh is tara…
It’s Kanya and Aayan’s (Vishal Singh) love story. Aakashdeep plays the baddie but not totally negative like a villain. That’s the USP of the show. It’s not a triangle but a comic love story of a middle- class girl and a rich boy.

On her character…
I play the role of Kanya Godbole who hails from a middle class family. She is the ladli of the house and wishes to do something in life. Kanya has a secret desire to meet her true love. She dreams of seeing her Prince Charming riding a horse and sweeping her off her feet to the world of dreams where true love prevails.
On how she got this role…
Ekta saw me on a billboard ad of IMS Institute and she clicked the picture on her cellphone. It took her twenty days to get through to me. I then went for a screen test and was selected for the main lead.
On her preparations for the role…
I don’t have a background in acting so it was very difficult for me to cope. I practiced my dialogue delivery with help from my director and tried to get into the skin of the character. Even today I stand in front of the mirror to assess my dialogue delivery, my walking style and my clothes.
On her studies and Balaji…
I’m in my final BMM year at Vivekanand College in Chembur. I am aware that my work will affect my studies. I’ll try and balance both but if it gets too hectic then my studies can take a back seat for a year. Balaji is a big name and to start a career with them is much more important. I have always dreamed of acting and now that my dream has been realized there is no stopping me.
