With the impending launch of any big show on television, the rival channels do gear up to the challenge by coming up with something out-of-the-box to fight the competition. Well, this is exactly what is happening when it comes to the upcoming launch of Colors’ big ticket reality show, Bigg Boss (season 6).
So what does the #1 channel Star Plus do to combat it? Well, here is the news for you. Diya Aur Baati Hum the #1 show across all GECs has been extended from Monday to Saturday from this week. Way to go, Star Plus!! Now it is for viewers to decide whether they will tune in to watch some soap drama (Diya) or relish some voyeuristic pleasures (Colors) at the 9pm slot.
When contacted, producer Sumeet Mittal confirmed the news stating, “Yes, it is right.”
We hear that the story ahead will focus on Sandhya’s (Deepika Singh) aspirations to become an IPS officer. With her brother Ankur’s (Varun Khandelwal) return to the show, the brother-sister bonding will also derive prominence, and Sooraj (Anas Rashid) will also get to know more about the fun-loving girl in Sandhya.
With this, the curtains are expected to draw on the much-hyped series of telefilms, Teri Meri Love Stories that failed to deliver at the rating chart.
All we can say is… bring it on channels!! Viewers are waiting for a fierce competition out here…
