Each frame of Mahabharat is as beautiful as a Sanjay Leela Bhansali painting on celluloid - Vivana Singh

Vivana Singh
Vivana Singh who plays Goddess Ganga in Star Plus’ Mahabharat is quite excited about her character and the show. Describing her thoughts on the recently launched mytho series produced by Swastik Productions, the actress says, “When I saw the first episode, I was really impressed as it was larger than life and did not look like other shows on TV. It looks more like a film than a small screen presentation. Each frame is as beautiful as a Sanjay Leela Bhansali painting on celluloid.” Talking about her character she states, “It is not a cameo; I will be there throughout and will be seen from time to time.” Vivana who first made her appearance as the female lead in the Raj Sippy directed film Jimmy does not pay too much attention to the fact that she is now doing TV after films. “I am an actor first, so I will do anything meaty which comes my way be it TV, theatre, films or TV commercials.” Incidentally, Vivana is the face of many brands like Thumbs Up with Akshay Kumar and Veet with Katrina Kaif to name a few. Ask her about went wrong with her debut film and she categorically says, “Some films work while others don’t. I was very happy to have been part of this action flick as it helped me to fulfill my dream of coming on the big screen. In the future as well if something good comes along on the big screen, I will surely take it up! I have done Punjabi films as well,” she adds for good measure. The actress is also open to doing a good saas bahu show as well, if the role is strong enough. “TV is big these days. After Jimmy wrapped up, I went back home up north to finish my studies. Once back I was offered Mahabharat which I grabbed with open arms.” Vivana is very happy with her costumes in this Siddharth Tiwary produced mytho. “Unlike other characters, my outfits are not very heavy. I am adorning shiffon saris with delicate embroidery. I have also been given pearls. I am very happy with my overall look.” Among all the powerful characters in the Mahabharat, Vivana is most inspired by the persona of Lord Krishna, “for he taught us the real dharma.” In closing, Vivana wishes to push aside rumours flying around that she has changed her name. Although I was known more as Pooja during Jimmy days, my official name has always been Vivana. Mimoh (Mithun Chakraborty’s son and co- star) and others would call me by my above nick name as they knew me personally.” Vivana, may this celluloid on TV work wonders for you!!
