Eijaz Khan mobbed in Agra

An actor getting mobbed in a public place is not an uncommon affair. However, a production house's lack of knowledge of the popularity of a particular star can certainly crop some problems. An actor getting mobbed in a public place is not an uncommon affair. However, a production house's lack of knowledge of the popularity of a particular star can certainly crop some problems. And this is exactly what happened on the sets of Sony Entertainment Television's Shubh Vivah. Since the show is set in present day Agra and Vrindavan, its cast and crew was busy shooting in and around that area. Apparently, Eijaz –who is the male lead in the soap – has a massive fan following in UP, courtesy to the movie Tanu Weds Manu. And guess what? During the shoot, he used to get mobbed by his chahne wallahs. The cast and crew had real trouble during the first day of the shoot (they were in Agra for eight to ten days). The production house (UTV) was not aware of Eijaz's immense popularity in the area; hence they planned to shoot in an open location. But this turned out to be a bane for them as the very minute the actor moved out of his vanity, he was mobbed by hundreds of fans who refused to leave without getting clicked. Eijaz was left with no choice but to click pictures with all his fans, which delayed the shoot by a couple of years. Later, the production house took proper precautions while shooting outdoor sequences with Eizaj and made sure that the crowd could not reach him. But his fans kept on lingering around the sets to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. "Eijaz too was surprised to see his popularity in Agra," said a source.
