MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor is one of Indian entertainment’s most powerful producers, with a career spanning over three decades. She has been the creative force behind some of the biggest projects across television, OTT, and films. More than just a producer, Ekta is a brand in herself. As the visionary behind Balaji Telefilms, she has delivered numerous iconic shows that became household names.
One such legendary creation was Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which premiered 25 years ago today and revolutionized Indian daily soaps. The show not only changed the landscape of Indian television but also became a cultural phenomenon. Celebrating the show's silver jubilee, Ekta took to social media to mark the occasion and shared the introduction video of the show while writing a nostalgic caption that reads -
"25 YEARS!!!
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi wasn't just a show... it was an emotion. A piece of my heart. A dream that started with folded hands and limitless faith in Shri Balaji... a story that became India's story. It gave @balajitelefilms its first wings... and gave me memories, love, and characters that continue to live in every home, every heart. Even today, when someone hums or create reels on the iconic theme "Rishton" or tells me how Tulsi felt like their own, it melts my heart and adds strength to my spirit
With my parents' blessings, my amazing team, our beautiful cast, and each one of YOU, our loyal audience..this journey became magical. I promise to keep bringing you stories that touch your soul the same way this one did. Thank you for 25 years of love... and here's to many more stories ahead."
