Actress Ekta Kaul, the protagonist of Star Plus’ Mere Angne Mein is presently recuperating from dengue in her home town Jammu.

Ekta has been out of action from the show for a while, and will be reporting back to set on 22 November.

The girl thanks her stars, and of course the Almighty for getting her back to health from a rather terrifying health condition.

Problems for Ekta started when she was in London for an event few days back. Later she went to Dubai for a holiday, and that was when she got chills and fever. Her condition got really bad when the airport authorities did not allow her to board the flight back to India from London. Instead she was admitted in a hospital for treatment. After more than 24 hours, she was allowed to take the flight back and she reported directly on the sets.

Ekta we hear, shot for a 12 hours shift even when she had high temperature accompanied by chills. That was when the production guys called for a doctor on set who suggested tests for dengue, malaria and chikungunya to be conducted. However, the girl completed the shoot on the day and when she reached home, she lost her consciousness.

Ekta told us, “When I was about to be admitted to the hospital, I only remember calling my parents and asking them to immediately come to Mumbai. I really thought I was dying. The test reports suggested that I had dengue. I don’t remember what happened in the initial two days of my hospitalization as I was hardly conscious. On the third day I was better, and on the fourth day I got discharged. My parents brought me to Jammu.”

Ekta’s platelets were low and the production house granted her further leave. “I am thankful to my producers for understanding my situation. They granted me nearly 20 days leave. I am getting better now, and will reach Mumbai by 22nd of this month.”

Ekta, get well soon!!
