Ekta takes the Marathi plunge; makes soap for Zee Marathi

Two of Ekta Kapoor latest productions go on air tonight. While Tere Liye goes on Star Plus, interestingly, another Marathi daily goes on Zee Marathi. Looks like she has moved from doing shows with a Maharashtrian backdrop to actually a Marathi soap! The show is titled Majhiya Priyala Preet Kalena and airs at 8 pm. The story revolves around its two protagonists Shamika and Abhijeet. Shamika is a young girl, born and brought up in America, but a complete Indian at heart. Her mother wants her to get married to her best friend’s son Jay, a rich, spoilt brat. The kind hearted and responsible Abhijeet works in Jay’s office. In a true Balaji style the twist in the tale happens when both Shamika and Abhijeet develop a liking towards each other, while at the same time Shamika’s younger sister Ria falls in love with Abhijeet. Confusion prevails and that is how the story proceeds. Newcomers Mrunal Dusanis and Abhijeet Khandkekar are cast as Shamika and Abhijeet. The cast also includes Sneha Kulkarni, Prasad Jawade, Sanjay Mone, Amita Khopkar.
