Episodics help an actor to detoxify and shed off dramatic emotions - Rishi Khurana

Rishi Khurana, who recently was part of an episodic of Sony Entertainment Television’s Crime Patrol and is currently shooting for 24 Frames’ upcoming (untitled) show on Star Plus, feels that both these formats require an equal amount of hard work. He also finds it funny when people who do episodics claim that they are better actors. Sounding a bit sarcastic, Rishi shares, “I don’t know why people, who do such crime-based shows, think so high of themselves. To be honest, I feel when they have no work in daily shows, they move on to doing episodic shows regularly to pacify themselves thinking that they are the ‘real’ actors.” “As an actor you surely work with an equal amount of dedication and hard work whether you are doing serials or episodes. Thus I feel one should not find a difference between them. At the end what matters most for an actor is that you have to play your character convincingly,” he quips. Talking about his recent work in an episodic, the actor avers, “In episodes, the budget is less and for that sometimes they shoot without permission too; that adds to the fun. I feel doing episodes helps one to detoxify oneself and shed off dramatic emotions. Hence, even though these are two different things, the job still remains the same.” And what about people who exclaim as to how difficult it is to shoot for episodes in real locations and situations? Nodding his head, the talented actor observes, “You have to understand one thing, that it’s not natural to get all the luxury when you are shooting for such shows. It’s better if you go without any expectations so that you don’t feel disappointed at the end of the day.
