MUMBAI: Currently garnering immense love for his newly released heartbreak anthem ‘Kuch Yaadein’, musician Munawar Faruqui is all set to make his acting debut in a web series titled ‘First Copy’. Earlier this year, on the occasion of Eid, Munawar Faruqui dropped the teaser of the web series, leaving fans super thrilled. Portraying a grey character from the world of piracy, the musician-turned-actor has now shared another interesting update on the project, revealing he has kick-started his journey on the show.
Taking to social media, Munawar Faruqui shared a picture of himself holding the script of ‘First Copy’ and wrote, “Journey starts #firstcopy #readingtime”. In the picture, the actor-musician can be seen engaging in a script reading session for his debut web series, further heightening curiosity among audiences.
Meanwhile, the teaser for ‘First Copy’ transports us back to 1999 when DVDs were a big trend. While movies premiered in theatres on Fridays, many would create a ‘first copy’ of the film on DVD on Thursdays before the official release, showcasing the dark world of piracy.
Written and directed by Farhan P. Zamma, produced by Kurji Productions, and co-produced by Salt Media, the ‘First Copy’ teaser received a heartening response from netizens all across. Further, fans will have to wait a little longer to learn more details about the project.
